Investing in Comics as Collectibles

Investing in Comics as Collectibles

For most of us, investing is a way of life, to save for retirement, make a killing in the Stock Market, or Financial stability. a lot of investments are not tangible and can't be seen, exceptions to this would be Gold, Silver, Platinum, etc. One other investment would be Comic books, the right comic could make you wealthy or well off depending on the comic and the condition of it. Some examples of this are Issue one of Action Comics with the debut of Superman from 1938, if it is an original printed in that year and not a re-issue, in mint condition is worth over 6 million dollars. Issue on of Spiderman Amazing Fantasy 1962 in mint condition is worth over 3 million dollars.

If you grade any comic and you get an initial appraisal, it won't go below that value, it can only go up or stay at the price. Many argue about whether or not CGI grading is accurate and if you should go that route or not, I won't give an opinion on it, what I will say is to google it and judge for yourself.

Over the course of years, Comic books have become a dying form of collecting, because the value has decreased. That's not to say it won't make a comeback. Afterall, everything goes in cycles and eventually makes it's way back into fashion. Keep those boxes full of Comic books that you have been collecting for years, I believe it will turn around and be the investment you were hoping it would be.
