Creating a comic is a long and sometimes emotional process. I spent 8 months creating my characters and their back stories, as well as doing spec drawings and panels before publishing the finished product. I was fortunate that it was only 8 months for me, which really isn't that long when it comes to creating a comic. I know some people that have been working on theirs' for almost 2 years and are just now getting it to print and web. There is no time frame to this process, every creator is different in what they want from their comic, so the process varies for each individual. Some people have artists who do all the drawings and they do the writing, so that as a result may take a little longer as well. If you are creating a comic book or strip, don't set a time table for yourself, when you feel it's ready to go public, it will.
